South Georgia announces schedule
Tormenta's 2026 schedule was released today and Tormenta has an extremely front-loaded schedule for the upcoming campaign. Get your tickets early because there are a lot of games early in the season.
Of their 19 home games listed, only six total come in the months of August, September and October. I won't insult your intelligence by telling you how many games that means there are at home from March-July, but I'm pretty sure you can figure it out.
It was previously announced that Tormenta would open at home with Spokane on a rare afternoon kickoff on Sunday, March 8. They'll go on to host AV Alta (March 14), Sarasota (March 21) and Boise (March 28) while hosting three more games in April.
The first road match of the season isn't until April 4 when Tormenta travels to face Richmond at City Stadium.
Greenville comes to Statesboro on April 8 while Chattanooga visits on the 18th and Naples pays a visit to Statesboro on April 25. The Naples game is a part of the newly renamed Prinx Tires USL Cup which was formerly the Jagermeister Cup the previous two seasons.
(Note to self: See if I can get any of the cool Jagermeister stuff Tormenta used the past two seasons.)
Three more home games in May, including defending champion One Knox (May 9), Madison (May 20) and Richmond (May 23) means Tormenta will host nine of their 19 home games in 77 days to start the season.
June sees just one home game when Charlotte comes to town for a matchup on the 20th. July, meanwhile, has just one regular season home game when they face Portland on July 8. They'll then face Sporting Jack in the USL Cup on July 11.
Tormenta's other two USL Cup games are at Sarasota on May 16 and a visit to Miami FC on June 6.
For those keeping track, that's two regular season games combined for June and July.
August will see the New York Cosmos playing in Statesboro to start the month and their New York counterparts Westchester visiting just a week later on August 8. Newcomers Fort Wayne SC come to town on August 22nd.
South Georgia then goes almost a month between home games, waiting until September 19th for Corpus Christi FC to make their first appearance at Tormenta stadium.
Union Omaha (October 4th) and Naples (October 16) wrap up the home portion of the season as Tormenta has just nine home matches in the final 155 days of the season.
Tormenta wraps up the season against defending champion One Knox on Friday, October 23 in Tennessee.
